Women + Waves are back at Great Western for another season of incredible training weekends and friendly (free) surf socials

Local female surf collective Women + Waves was started for this very reason, to bring together women of all ages and surf abilities, to connect through their mutual love of the ocean. Women + Waves has created a zero pressure, super supportive and welcoming surf community that aims to encourage more women to jump in… whether it’s for a dip, a boog, a paddle or a surf.
During the lush summer evenings, Women + Waves take it back to where it all started, Surf Club Social Nights at the OG, the best surf beach in town, Great Western
HERE’S HOW IT WORKS…
One Thursday a month Women + Waves meet at 5:30 PM at Great Western Beach in Newquay. Everyone heads down to the water together for a free surf, bodyboard, swim or whatever water activity you prefer!
There is then the option to stay for a delicious meal at the Great Western Surf Cafe at 7pm, where you can buzz about the waves you caught and how good it feels to jump in the sea together. All abilities and ages are welcome (from 8 years up). So bring along your mum, gran, daughter or gal pals for a night of froth, fun & top-notch food!
Each event fundraises for a different charity, so not only is it fun, but it’s also for a great cause. All you need to do is sign up, bring yourself, your surf gear and money for dinner and donations!

FAQ
Will equipment be available for hire?
Please bring your own equipment along with you as we will not be hiring out equipment for these social events.
If you would like to hire something you can speak to Great Western independently to arrange it, however this may involve you hiring over night as the surf hire will close at around 5pm.
Do you cater for food allergies/ vegetarian/ vegan etc?
Yes, Great Western Surf Cafe offers a variety of food options to suit every diet, however please inform the cafe if you require any dishes to be adapted.
Can I bring my husband, son, partner, etc?
Sorry guys, this is an all-women’s event. Ladies only!
