The Outdoor Activity Instructor Academy Students & Marine Conservation Society Clean Great Western Beach

A HUGE thanks to Tom Crawford from the Education team at the Marine Conservation Society for coming to Great Western, in partnership with the Outdoor Activity Instructor Academy Students (@outdoorinstructoracademy)

Tom gave a talk on the efforts of the Marine Conservation Society and explained the importance of collecting data in tandem with beach cleaning. The OAIA students will be working in the outdoors for their chosen careers, the beach is their future office, so these talks and activities form a vital part of their education. It increases their awareness of the impact that pollution has on our beach environment, and how they as individuals can make a difference, and instigate positive change!

Plus the students are now trained in how to run activities like beach cleans and seaweed surveys, thanks to the education resources that the @mcs_uk offer.

We at Great Western were delighted the MCS and OAIA came to our beach for their training event, and were only too happy to provide some post beach clean coffees ❤️
