Boardmasters Beach Cleans

With Boardmasters on the horizon Newquay is bracing itself for the hit of 50,000 additional visitors, and all the noise, traffic and rubbish that that brings.

As guardians of Great Western Beach we are especially worried about any events which may cause damage to our marine and beach environment, so Boardmasters is always a period where we have to work overtime to stay on top of the rubbish and keep our beach clean.

This year we are delighted to say that Boardmasters are organising beach cleans, some run by their staff and volunteers, and some supported by Beach Guardians.

Great Western welcomes any and all assistance in keeping our wonderful beach clean, especially with the additional thousands of beach users we will host during the festival. Anyone joining in on a beach clean at Great Western will be given a free cup of tea, just please bring your own reusable cup as we won’t be adding to the rubbish by handing out more disposables.
