Great Western Beach Facilities
The Surf Café is the heart and soul of the Great Western Beach Complex. With breathtaking views over Newquay bay, it is one of the best spots in Cornwall for oceanside dining. Choose from a table inside, a bench on the path down to the beach, the decked area, or our licensed beer garden right on the golden sand.
Sometimes you just want to sit down on the beach and enjoy a drink in the sun. That’s why we’ve put The Surf Shack right on the sand where you can order everything from cocktails to coffees, to beers and ice cream.
Proper Neapolitan style wood fired pizza, right on Great Western Beach.
These pizzas are the stuff of legend and will keep you fuelled between surf sessions, during an incredible DJ set, or during an active day on the beach.
Learn to surf with NQY Surfing School at one of the most consistently good beaches for learning how to surf! With protection from winds and clean small waves for beginners, it is the ideal spot to start surfing!
We are Surf Hire Newquay, the number 1 surf hire in town. You can hire all of your beach equipment from us, such as surfboards, wetsuits, bodyboards, stand up paddle boards (SUPs) and kayaks. Located right on the sand you can’t get closer top the surf.

RNLI Lifeguard Cover

Toilets
There are public toilets on the beach which are open 10am until 6pm during the summer months – please note, the toilets will close in the winter.
